Iftah Ya Simsim
Iftah Ya Simsim is an edutainment television series targeting children aged 3-8. It teaches them the Arabic language, supports their overall development (physical, mental, emotional, social and linguistic), develops their abilities and skills, ensures their preparedness for school, and encourages strong interactive parent/child relationships.
The programme features a wide range of easy-to-use awareness-raising materials (e.g. booklets, songs, stories, events, public service announcements, applications, online educational materials), appealing to the largest number of children possible. It also provides fundamental early-childhood tools that stimulates children’s positive growth and learning, which are designed to be used by both children and their parents.
A promising media personality, who received his BA in Mass Communication from the Broadcasting Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). Sukkar has been working across many fields related to children-media, including television programmes and events. He has also participated in in various prestigious events, such as Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and Sharjah International Book Fair. Moreover, he worked as a theatre production supervisor at the “Summer of My Country” (Sayf Biladi), organised by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in Abu Dhabi.
Matt Smith, a Canadian/British cartoonist and educator, best known for his humorous Smith vs Smith webcomics and his Gruesome Comics horror stories. He has exhibited at Dubai's Middle East Film and Comic Con and Abu Dhabi's Comic Craze art exhibit. His comics have been published by Alterna Comics, Hangman Comics and Vagabond Comics. Matt currently lives in Al Ain, and has taught comics making workshops in Abu Dhabi, Mexico, Germany, Ethiopia and Canada.
