Spotlight on Rights – Spreading the translated word worldwide

Abu Dhabi International Book Fair aims to foster respect for intellectual property in the Arab world while building bridges of cultural exchange and creating networking opportunities between Arab and international publishers. With this in mind, it's initiative ‘Spotlight on Rights’ supports the translation of content from and into Arabic, and ensures that this content is disseminated to a worldwide audience.

The ‘Spotlight on Rights’ initiative started over a decade ago. During the course of Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, it provides grants to participating publishers that translate content from and into Arabic. Subsidies from the US $2,500 up to the US $4,000 per title will be awarded and contribute towards the publishers’ licensing rights.
