Over the course of more than thirty years, Sherif Amer has been associated with diverse journalistic experiences in the field of visual and print media. Whether in Cairo, Washington, or Jerusalem, his experiences have accumulated, serving as a professional journalist, observer and transmitter on significant events that have shaped the Arab and Middle Eastern world.
Through some of the most widely watched and distributed Egyptian and Arab platforms, Sherif Amer has directly conveyed to viewers the major transformations spanning over a complete decade. On screen, he has interviewed the most important and influential figures, including senior politicians at the Egyptian, regional, and international levels.
He was selected as the most credible presenter during major Egyptian events in January 2011 and June 2013. With the highest percentage of presidential participations and interventions, his programme "Yehdos fi Masr" on MBC Misr gained credibility and spread through live broadcasts directly from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
He conducted the first television interviews for four consecutive Egyptian Prime Ministers from 2011 until today, and his programme "Yehdos fi Misr" became one of the most watched on the Egyptian level since its inception in early 2014. With over 2 billion online views across social media platforms, MBC Masr surpassed the views of its programme on screen during 2022 and 2023.
Sherif Amer was the only Egyptian and Arab presenter granted the opportunity to broadcast his programme live from inside the newsroom of the American network, CNN, from its headquarters in Atlanta in 2012. Additionally, he has produced and directed several special episodes that have stood out on the Egyptian and Arab levels, directly from the headquarters of the American internet and technology giant, Google.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
