The Al Ain Book Festival, formerly known as the Al Ain Book Fair, was founded in 2009 to celebrate Al Ain's rich cultural heritage as well as the inspiring works of Emirati writers, thinkers, and innovators past and present.
The festival, which was renamed in 2022, is organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre and offers a diverse programme aimed at promoting reading culture and inspiring people to connect with Emirati heritage, culture, and creativity by bringing Emirati stories, poetry, films, art, and music to life for everyone, especially the youth.

The festival also aims at promoting the values of belonging, creativity, and innovation by providing a platform for all segments of society to participate in its activities and programmes, as well as exceptional opportunities to purchase books and enjoy events and artistic performances. It promotes the city of Al Ain's unique characteristics, such as its distinguished community, rich history, and exceptional nature, through interesting and rich activities that the entire family can enjoy.
