Session Details

This session presents various initiatives for documenting and recording folk poetry, with highlighting the role played by various media outlets in preserving folk poetry, a role that has resulted in the creation of new traditions such as publishing poetry magazines and allocating pages for poetry in daily newspapers, these publications have become open arenas for poetic exchanges and intellectual debates. In addition to the role played by institutions concerned with heritage and personal initiatives in documenting oral poetry and making it available to generations.
