This session will introduce attendees to the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi. It will take attendees on a tour through the visitor’s journey of the museum. It will showcase some key specimen that will be on display for the public to view and will highlight the importance of these specimen to the UAE and science overall.
Sara Almarzooqi is an Assistant Curator at the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi. With a background in B.Sc. in Biology and a minor in Heritage Studies, Sara brings a unique perspective to her work. Her primary focus revolves around acquisitions, seeking out specimens and objects that enrich the museum's collection and exhibition. Then, taking those specimens and curating them to complement the museum’s narrative.
Beyond the confines of the museum, Sara engages in occasional fieldwork, immersing herself in the natural landscapes of the UAE to uncover treasures of the country's biodiversity.
A firm believer in the value of science communication, Sara advocates for making science accessible to all, bridging the gap between academia and the public. Through her dedication to both scientific exploration and cultural preservation, Sara is committed to shaping a more informed and inspired society.
