About Spotlight on Rights

Launched in 2009, the Spotlight on Rights initiative aims to financially support the efforts of publishers looking to translate literary content from and into Arabic and digitise printed content to eBook and Audiobook formats. The initiative is set to fortify cooperation between Arab and international publishers and avail as much of the world’s best literary content as possible to Arab readers around the region.

Since its inception, Spotlight on Rights has helped over 140 publishers release more than 1,035 books across genres like children’s literature, science, history and social sciences. In 2022, we received applications from 122 publishing houses across 12 countries and awarded 135 grants in total.
