Lifestyle Corner - Hall 9
Since the early 16th century AD, the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula have been a magnet for European travellers of all races and creeds, from the Portuguese and Dutch to the French, English, Americans, and others.
Their motivations were diverse, ranging from religious, scientific, political, and missionary reasons to the love of adventure, risk, and danger, as well as the desire for exploration, discovery, and knowledge.
This session explores the impacts and influences of these Western travellers on their understanding and portrayal of Emirati society, culture, traditions, and customs.
