A panel discussion that delves into the novel "Anf wa Thalath Oyoun" (A Nose and Three Eyes) by the famous Egyptian author Ihsan Abdel Quddous which has been adapted into a film starring the renowned actor Dhaffer L'Abidine.
The session explores the dimensions of the novel and the depth of its themes, such as identity, belonging, and love, as well as the analysis of characters and the psychological conflicts they express.
Panellists will discuss the transformation that occurs in the story when adapted into a cinematic film, and how characters and situations are visually embodied. Additionally, they will review the experience of acting and directing in presenting the novel's story tangibly on the big screen, and the extent to which the film remains faithful to the original content of the novel.

Born in Tunis in 1972, Dhafer L'Abidine studied computers while working as a fashion model at the Metropolitan in Paris. He then travelled to London to attend the Birmingham College of Acting, where he graduated in 2002.
He first appeared on television in the series "Dream Team", then in a number of American films, and finally in Arab dramas in 2002.
In 2021, Dhafer L’Abidine moved behind the camera to direct his first feature film “Ghodwa”, which he co-wrote, starred in, and produced in Tunisia. “Ghodwa” won the international Film Critics Award at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2021. After a successful cinema release “Ghodwa” is now showing worldwide on Netflix.
In November 2022, Dhafer just finished directing his second feature film “To My Son”, which he also co-wrote and produced through his company “Double A Productions” in co-productions with “O3 Medya”.
Dhafer L’Abidine also enjoys a successful career as an actor, appearing in numerous international film productions, such as “Children of Men”, “Sex and the City 2”, and “Centurion”.
In 2019, L'Abidine took part in the American TV series “The Looming Tower”, which received 4 Emmy nominations.
In 2020, Dhafer had a key role in Netflix’s French-speaking series “The Eddy”, produced and directed by Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash) and written by Jack Throne.
Dhafer recently played the lead role in the Egyptian film “A Nose and Three Eyes”, which is in cinemas across the Middle East. He is also playing the lead role in season 2 of “Finding Ola” that will be soon on Netflix.
Amir Ramses is an Egyptian filmmaker born in 1979. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt in 2000 with distinction and worked as an assistant to the renowned Egyptian director Youssef Chahine for 5 years, and then began his career in directing feature films in 2005 with the film "Akher El Donia".
His films have participated in numerous festivals, and he has served as a member of several jury panels at Arab and international festivals. He also served as the Artistic Director of the El Gouna Film Festival for its first 5 editions, then assumed the management of the Cairo International Film Festival for its 44th and 45th editions.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Cinema Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt.
His films have received over 30 local and international awards, including the Audience Award at the Malmo Film Festival for the film "Curfew”, which also won 12 awards as one of the top films of 2020 at the Egyptian Film Association Festival. His documentary film "Jews of Egypt" also garnered significant international attention and was screened at major festivals, such as the Montreal International Film Festival, Hamburg, and Palm Springs.
Some of his notable films include "Cairo Time" (2014), "Jews of Egypt" (2013), "Curfew" (2020), and "A Nose and Three Eyes" (2023).
