Session Details

In this special session, we dive deep into history, culture, and flavor, tracing the journey of a small fruit that has become a global symbol of health and culinary elegance: the avocado.

From its ancient roots in the Aztec and Maya civilizations to its strong presence in contemporary menus around the world, we explore how this creamy fruit transformed from a local crop to a global phenomenon.

Inspired by “Avocado: A Global History” by Jeff Miller, we examine the agricultural, commercial, and cultural journey of the avocado. We’ll discuss its symbolism across different societies, its impact on the economy, the environment, and modern food trends.

The session also opens the door for attendees to explore the diverse ways avocados are used in global kitchens, from traditional recipes to healthy and delicious contemporary innovations.

A session rich in information, brimming with flavors, and open to an engaging dialogue about a fruit that has become a universal culinary language understood by all.
