Session Details

The session explores the Asma Siddiq Award for the First Novel and its role in discovering new literary voices and supporting writers in their early steps toward publication and wider recognition.

The session brings together Ms Asma Siddiq Almotawa, Founder of the Award, the Award’s Secretary-General, a representative of the Critics’ Committee, and a publisher to discuss the selection criteria, the mechanisms used to evaluate submissions, and the role of literary criticism and publishing in developing first-time novelists’ work.

It also examines the Award’s impact in encouraging emerging talent, opening new opportunities for writers, and strengthening the presence of new Arabic fiction on the cultural scene.
