The session will host artist Karim Fahmy, who launched his first graphic novel "The Kingdom of Death" during the Cairo International Book Fair, in a conversation with comic book artist Migo about the experience of publishing a fantasy graphic novel in Arabic.
Migo is an Egyptian comics artist born in Cairo. He is the art director of the award-winning 'A'lak fin?' magazine and has previously held the same position for other projects and publications. Migo published his comics in several magazines, including TokTok, Samandl, Lap 619 and Words Without Borders, as well as other journals and publications. He also directed several short animated films for BBC Arabic.
Migo was awarded the Best Short Illustrated Story award at the Cairo Comics Festival and the 6th Mahmoud Kahil award for best comic.
A journalist, art critic, screenwriter, children's story writer, and poet. Former editor-in-chief of Al-Qahira newspaper, deputy editor-in-chief of Alaa Al-Din magazine at the Egyptian press institution, and a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Cinema Critics Association. He is a member of both the Egyptian journalists and cinema syndicates. He writes illustrated children's stories for Alaa Al-Din magazine, has published two poetry collections and several books on art criticism, and has also written several screenplays for Egyptian films and TV series.
